Koichi Kakimoto (Specially Appointed Professor) received the Frank Prize from the International Organization for Crystal Growth (IOCG) (Yoshikawa PJ)

Specially Appointed Professor Koichi Kakimoto (conducted research at the Yoshikawa PJ until fiscal 2024) received the Frank Prize from the International Organization for Crystal Growth (IOCG) jointly with Professor Jeffrey J. Derby (University of Minnesota, USA).

 

The Frank Prize is named after Dr. F. Charles Frank, who laid the foundations for crystal growth, and is awarded to researchers who have made outstanding achievements in the fundamental field of crystal growth.

 

Specially Appointed Professor Kakimoto is currently continuing his research at the Institute for Materials Research.
