Junichi Koike (Specially Appointed Professor) received the Medal with Purple Ribbon in the 2024 Autumn.
He has been involved in research on the deformation and fracture mechanisms of lightweight metallic materials and micro-wiring materials for advanced semiconductor devices for many years, and has discovered many new findings that have contributed to improved processability and dramatically improved the properties and reliability of these materials. In addition, he founded his own company, Material Concept, Inc.
Professor Koike has long worked to elucidate the deformation and fracture mechanisms of lightweight metallic materials and involved in research on micro-wiring materials for advanced semiconductor devices and has discovered many new findings that have contributed to improved processability and dramatically improved the properties and reliability of these materials. In addition, he has realized social implementation by starting his own company, Material Concept, Inc.
He is a project leader of the “Joint Research Project on Interconnect Advanced Technology” at NICHe.
