Awards 2024.04.30

Masuo Okada (NICHe Senior Research Fellow) received the Order of the Sacred Treasure, Gold Rays with Neck Ribbon in the 2024 Spring.

Okada NICHe Senior Research Fellow has pioneered a new academic field in the effective use of hydrogen in metallic materials, such as

〇Development of Ti-V-Cr hydrogen storage alloys with the world’s highest 3 mass% capacity below 100°C

〇Synthesis of novel Mg- and Li-based high capacity hydrides and intermetallic compounds by ultra-high pressure method

〇High functionality through microstructure control of Cu, Al and Mg-based alloys by hydrogen treatment Functionalization

etc.

He has pioneered a new academic field of effective utilization of hydrogen in metal materials, clarified the relationship between structure and properties in a wide range of functional materials, mainly hydrogen storage alloys, and contributed to the creation of highly functional materials and new materials.

Okada NICHe Senior Research Fellow is currently assisting with the preparation of applications for Grants-in-Aid for Scientific Research, and advising on the preparation of evaluation reports for organizations.
